Online Yoga Classes For Positive Body
I spent years of my life totally disconnected from my body. I felt as if my body was wrong and somehow had nothing to do with the real me. I was postponing my life until I lost weight. Then I could be myself. Then I could have permission to live out loud. Lots of us are postponing living our real lives until we lose weight, have our degree, get a better job or have a relationship. I want you to stop doing that. Stop postponing your life. Yoga was the first step in my journey to a radical self-acceptance. My yoga mat is the ceasefire zone, where I made peace with my body and I want to share the tools of yoga and mindfulness with you so that you can walk the same path, toward radical self-acceptance and a positive body experience. Maybe you’ve worked up the nerve to go to a yoga studio but never went back because the teacher ignored you, or because your body wasn’t making the shapes that they were telling you to. I’m here to tell you two things.
First of all, you’re not alone. Also, your body is not the problem. Back in the day, yoga was designed for skinny teenage Indian boys. Newsflash, you are not a skinny teenage Indian boy. Neither am I. To get the awesome benefits of yoga in your life, you just need a teacher who knows how to adapt the yoga practice to fit your unique body. The fact is most yoga teacher training doesn’t equip new teachers with the knowledge they need to work with someone that looks like you or like me. But that doesn’t mean that yoga isn’t for you. Body positive yoga is yoga for the body you bring to the mat today. It’s weight-neutral and body agnostic. Its yoga for people who think they aren’t right for yoga. Too big, too old, too stiff, too limited, not woo-woo enough, whatever. I uniquely understand how to adapt yoga to your body type and body positive yoga has a monthly plan that’s right for you.
Whether you have five minutes a day to practice or a whole hour each month you’ll get new videos, audio recordings and printable worksheets, that help you learn to adapt common yoga poses, step-by-step to accommodate your body.
